Here's a list of events I'm hosting at the 2006

in San Diego, July 20-23

Thursday, July 20

2:00 PM - 3:30 PM / Room 8
BATMAN: THE GOLDEN/SILVER AGE

No one is more popular than the Caped Crusader and the Boy Wonder.  We'll discuss their early, glory days with some of the talented men who made them happen: SHELDON MOLDOFF, JERRY ROBINSON, JIM MOONEY, ARNOLD DRAKE and JOE GIELLA.

3:30 PM - 4:30 PM / Room 8
THE SERGIO AND MARK SHOW

Yeah, it's them again.  SERGIO ARAGONES, MARK EVANIER, STAN SAKAI and TOM LUTH give you this year's excuse for why there have been no new Groo comics, along with their usual promises that this condition will not persist for much longer.  Plus other funny stuff.

5:30 PM - 7:00 PM / Room 8
JERRY ROBINSON

A chat with one of the true Golden Age Greats, as well as a popular syndicated cartoonist and past president of the National Cartoonists Society, Jerry Robinson.  Plus, we'll be previewing a new documentary about the man and his legendary work.

Friday, July 21

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM / Room 8
SPOTLIGHT ON JIM MOONEY
He got into comics in 1941 and never looked back.  Meet one of the field's most prolific illustrators...the man who drew Supergirl, Spider-Man, Dial H for Hero, Man-Thing, Tommy Tomorrow, Batman, Robin, The Legion of Super-Heroes, Omega the Unknown and so many others.

2:00 PM - 3:30 PM / Room 8
THE ANNUAL JACK KIRBY TRIBUTE PANEL

Every year, we remember the man they called "The King of the Comics" with a discussion of his life and times.  Discussing this year, we have artists NEAL ADAMS, GEORGE PEREZ, JOHN ROMITA and MIKE ROYER, plus members of the Kirby family and a few surprises.

3:30 PM - 4:30 PM / Room 8
SPOTLIGHT ON JOHN ROMITA

He was the man who redefined not only Spider-Man but the entire style of Marvel Comics.  He drew not only Spidey but Daredevil, Captain America and dozens of others...Marvel's former Art Director and one of the most honored artists in the field, John Romita.

I will probably be appearing on a panel called FROM SHE-RA AND HE-MAN TO DUNGEONS & DRAGONS AND BEYOND!, which is all about the upcoming DVD releases of certain great animated shows of the past.  It's from 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM in Room 5AB
