He was one of Marvel's top writers, handling everything from Sgt. Fury to Hulk,
but he's probably best remembered for co-creating the motorcycle-riding Ghost
Rider. Making his first-ever West Coast comic book convention appearance,
come meet "Groovy" GARY FRIEDRICH.

THE SERGIO AND MARK SHOW
There is much happening in the world of that silliest of all barbarians, Groo
the Wanderer as he celebrates his 25th anniversary. At this panel, you'll hear
all about it, straight from the mouths of SERGIO ARAGONES, MARK EVANIER, STAN SAKAI, TOM
LUTH and even an editor or two.

THE ANNUAL GOLDEN/SILVER AGE PANEL
Time for the yearly gathering of six veteran comic creators discussing the
industry, past and present. Come hear GEORGE GLADIR, ALLEN BELLMAN, MEL KEEFER,
DICK AYERS, LILY RENEE PHILLIPS and RUSS HEATH talk about how it used
to be and can never be again.

SPOTLIGHT ON ALLEN BELLMAN
He drew Captain America, Sub-Mariner and Human Torch (among
others) for Timely in the forties and went on to work for Bob Wood and Lev
Gleason Publications, before leaving comics for the newspaper world. Meet one of
the unsung heroes of the Golden Age of Comics, ALLEN BELLMAN.

SPOTLIGHT ON MEL KEEFER
He was responsible for newspaper strips such as Perry Mason, Mac Divot,
and Rick O’Shay, worked extensively in animation and was even Jack
Lemmon's "stunt cartoonist" in the 1965 movie, How to Murder Your Wife.
In his first-ever Comic-Con appearance, come meet MEL KEEFER.

What was it like creating The Marvel Age of Comics, back when we all faced front
and hung loose? Here's a discussion of those halcyon days with folks
who were there including ROY THOMAS, GARY FRIEDRICH, DICK AYERS, MIKE PLOOG, DAVID GEORGE
and maybe others.

women, DAVE STEVENS in a rare Comic-Con conversation.

It's a duel to the death with Sharpie markers at ten paces. Three
lightning-quick cartoonists duke it out, drawing instant cartoons based on
suggestions from the host and the audience. Come challenge SERGIO
ARAGONES, SCOTT SHAW! and MIKE KAZALEH.

(Disney), CHRIS EDGERLY (Harvey Birdman) and JOE ALASKEY (Duck
Dodgers).

SPOTLIGHT ON ROY THOMAS
He went from editing the seminal comics fanzine Alter Ego to a job at
Marvel Comics, writing/editing The Avengers, X-Men, Conan and just about
every other Marvel character and group, including, at one point, editing the
whole line. We talk with ROY THOMAS about his long and storied
career.

Once again, we stop to talk of the man they call "The King of the
Comics." This time, talking Kirby will be NEIL GAIMAN, DARWYN COOKE,
ERIK LARSEN, MIKE ROYER and members of the Kirby family, with previews of
upcoming Kirby projects and a few surprises.
