THE SERGIO AND MARK SHOW

We do one of these every year.  SERGIO ARAGONES, MARK EVANIER, STAN SAKAI and TOM LUTH show up and talk about what's up with their various projects, especially Groo the Wanderer...and this year, we even have actual issues of Groo about to come out!

THE ANNUAL GOLDEN/SILVER AGE PANEL

Our yearly gathering of veteran comic creators discussing the industry, past and present.  Come hear LEONARD STARR, RAMONA FRADON, JERRY ROBINSON, GENE COLAN, MURPHY ANDERSON, JACK KATZ and RUSS HEATH talk about how it used to be and can never be again.

SPOTLIGHT ON GENE COLAN

A conversation with the man who drew Iron Man, Sub-Mariner, Doctor Strange, Tomb of Dracula, Daredevil and so many more in the Silver Age of Marvel Comics...GENE COLAN.  His frequent collaborator MARV WOLFMAN joins us as as we quiz Gene about his amazing career.

THAT 70'S PANEL

A gathering of writers and artists who were responsible for your fave comics of the seventies: MARV WOLFMAN (Tomb of Dracula), DOUG MOENCH (Master of Kung Fu), NICK CUTI (E-Man), STEVE LEIALOHA (Howard the Duck) and other creative talents discuss that most daring of decades.

LEGENDS OF THE BATMAN

It's the once-in-a-lifetime gathering of three men who gave us the Golden Age of Batman as they ghosted Batman tales for the late Bob Kane.  Hear SHELDON MOLDOFF, JERRY ROBINSON and LEW SAYRE SCHWARTZ discuss how they gave life to the Dark Knight Detective!

TWO FUNNY FREBERGS

In their first convention appearance ever!  STAN FREBERG was a cartoon voice superstar, a best-selling creator of comedy records and the father of the funny commercial.  He and his spouse HUNTER FREBERG discuss his work, her work, their work and all things Frebergian.

QUICK DRAW!

Three cartoonists duel to the death armed with nothing more than paper, markers and their (un)natural wits.  Who will emerge alive, let alone victorious?  Competing are SERGIO ARAGONES, SCOTT SHAW! and Disney Legend FLOYD NORMAN.  Wagering prohibited.

CARTOON VOICE ACTORS I

It's the fine art of speaking for animated characters...with BILL FARMER (Goofy), LARAINE NEWMAN (The Goode Family), FRED TATASCIORE (Ben 10), VANESSA MARSHALL (Spectacular Spider-Man), JAMES ARNOLD TAYLOR (Johnny Test) and TV Legend CHUCK McCANN (Duck Tales).

SPOTLIGHT ON JUNE FORAY

The First Lady of Cartoon Voicing has spoken for Rocky the Flying Squirrel, Natasha Fatale, Granny (owner of Tweety) and thousands of other animated legends.  Here's a once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet the legend that is JUNE FORAY and to hear about her newly-published autobiography.

EL CORTEZ MEMORIES

I'm not moderating this one but am pleased to be on it to recall the days when the con was at the El Cortez Hotel.  With me, SERGIO ARAGONES, BILL STOUT, MIKE ROYER, MIKE FRIEDRICH, GEORGE CLAYTON JOHNSON, JACK KATZ, LEE MARRS and moderator DAVID SCROGGY.

HARVEY KURTZMAN AND MAD
He was the creator of the best-selling humor magazine ever and maybe the best war comics ever.  DENNIS KITCHEN, Publishers PAUL LEVITZ and CHARLES KOCHMAN, artist BILL STOUT and Kurtzman's daughter NELLIE KURTZMAN remember this unique talent.

THE ANNUAL JACK KIRBY TRIBUTE PANEL
As we do each year, the family, friends and fans of the late "King of the Comics" gather to discuss his legacy.  With Actor BILL MUMY, Editor STEVE SAFFEL, Inker MIKE ROYER, Kirby Family Lawyer PAUL S. LEVINE, a few surprises and the reunion of THE SAN DIEGO FIVE STRING MOB.

11:15 PM - 12:30 PM / Room 6A
CARTOON VOICE ACTORS II
Another demo of the art of speaking for animation...with HANK GARRETT (G.I. Joe), CHARLIE ADLER (Tiny Toon Adventures), GREG CIPES (Teen Titans), SUSAN SILO (Biker Mice from Mars), TOM KANE (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) and one more person who still has to get back to me.

HOW TO BE A CARTOON VOICE ACTOR
Lots of people think they can do them...but how does one go about making a living as a voiceover actor?  Come hear a panel of agents, casting directors and performers to explain all about agents, casting directors, demos, classes, what to do and (most important) what not to do.

Changes of time, place and program are rare but possible.
