2:30 PM - 3:30 PM / Room 8
THE SERGIO AND MARK SHOW

Another year, another panel with SERGIO ARAGONES, MARK EVANIER, STAN SAKAI and TOM LUTH discussing the silly things they do, many of them with the silly character known as Groo the Wanderer.  ..and this year, we even have actual issues of Groo about to come out!

3:30 PM - 4:30 PM / Room 8
SPOTLIGHT ON ROY THOMAS

Comics writer-editor ROY THOMAS is quizzed about his extraordinary career that stretched from the first fanzine, Alter Ego, to running Marvel Comics, bringing Conan the Barbarian to their pages, writing All-Star Squadron for DC and so much more.  Your Moderator is MARK EVANIER.

4:30 PM - 5:30 PM / Room 8
MAD MEN
A whole buncha guys who bring you MAD Magazine: Editor JOHN FICARRA, Art Director SAM VIVIANO, Writer DICK DeBARTOLO, Artists SERGIO ARAGONES, TOM RICHMOND, KEITH KNIGHT and PETER KUPER, all quizzed by Moderator MARK EVANIER.  Just your basic MAD Panel.

5:30 PM - 6:30 PM / Room 8
SPOTLIGHT ON PAUL LEVITZ

Another guy who made the amazing climb from publishing fanzines to running a major comic book company.  MARK EVANIER and MARV WOLFMAN play Good Cop/Bad Cop, interrogating PAUL LEVITZ about his life before, at and since DC COMICS.

Friday, July 22

NOON - 1:00 PM / Room 24ABC
TRIBUTE TO GENE COLAN

A remembrance of the man who drew Iron Man, Sub-Mariner, Doctor Strange, Tomb of Dracula, Daredevil and so many more in the Silver Age of Marvel Comics.  Join many of his friends and colleagues and they discuss the man they called Gentleman Gene...with good reason.

2:30 - 3:30 PM / Room 24ABC
THAT 70'S PANEL

A gathering of folks responsible for great comics of that era: ROY THOMAS (Conan), WALT SIMONSON (Manhunter), JOE STATON (E-Man), LOUISE SIMONSON (Warren), MIKE ROYER (New Gods), LEN WEIN (Swamp Thing) and other creative talents discuss that most daring of decades.

Saturday, July 23

10:00 AM - 11:30 PM / Room 24ABC
50 YEARS OF COMIC FANDOM: THE FOUNDERS

Hard to believe Comic Book Fandom has been around half a century.  Let's meet some of the folks who gave birth to this peculiar institution...like MAGGIE THOMPSON, RICHARD KYLE, PAUL LEVITZ, DICK & PAT LUPOFF, JEAN BAILS, ROY THOMAS and BILL SCHELLY.

11:45 AM - 1:00 PM / Room 6BCF
QUICK DRAW!

Three cartoonists duel to the death armed with nothing more than paper, markers and their (un)natural wits.  Who will emerge alive, let alone victorious?  Competing are SERGIO ARAGONES, SCOTT SHAW!, MIKE KAZALEH and a few surprises.  Wagering prohibited.

1:00 PM - 2:30 PM / Room 6BCF
CARTOON VOICE ACTORS I

The fine art of speaking for animated stars...with WALLY WINGERT (The Avengers), ROB PAULSEN (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), TOWNSEND COLEMAN (The Tick), SARATOGA BALLANTINE (Spider-Man), TARA STRONG (The Powerpuff Girls) and ROBIN ATKIN DOWNES (Thundercats).

Sunday, July 24

10:00 AM - 11:15 AM / Room 5ABC
THE ANNUAL JACK KIRBY TRIBUTE PANEL
As we do each year, the family, friends and fans of the late "King of the Comics" gather to discuss how much of him is still with us.  This year on the dais, we have TV Host JONATHAN ROSS, Artists WALT SIMONSON, ERIK LARSEN and MIKE ROYER, plus Publisher RICHARD KYLE.

11:30 AM - 12:45 PM / Room 6A
CARTOON VOICE ACTORS II
More on the art of speaking for animated stars...with BILL FARMER (Goofy), LARAINE NEWMAN (The Goode Family), GREGG BERGER (The Garfield Show), VANESSA MARSHALL (Spectacular Spider-Man), JASON MARSDEN (The Garfield Show) and probably someone else.

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM / Room 25ABC
COVER STORY: THE ART OF THE COVER

What goes onto and into a great cover?  We'll discuss that as we look at covers by ERNIE CHAN (Batman), DAVE GIBBONS (Watchmen), JEFF SMITH (Bone), JO CHEN (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), ALAN DAVIS (X-Men) and ASHLEY WOOD (Popbot) and ask them how they came to be.

3:00 PM - 4:30 PM / Room 25ABC
THE BUSINESS OF CARTOON VOICES
Lots of people think they can do them...but how does one go about making a living as a voiceover actor?  Come hear a panel of agents, casting directors and performers to explain all about agents, casting directors, demos, classes, what to do and (most important) what not to do.

Changes of time, place and program are rare but possible.
Check my weblog, consult your convention schedule and keep
an eye out for last-minute announcements posted around the hall.
